landscape design ideas might be found in nature or the built spaces around us, whether discovered during travels or just a walk in the neighborhood.

drifts of perennials

Masses of native narcissus and globe flower add beauty to a mountain meadow in Ecrins national park in France. And the complementary colors, such as the orange and blue seen along a roadway near Ecrins national park in France, add contrast to create seasonal interest.

We can use large drifts of perennials to create color in our designed gardens

rocky waters edge

Inspiration can come from natural places such as this high-elevation lake in Norway. Our designed water features can repeat patterns in nature such as using clustered large boulders and groups of small flat stones along waters edge.

Wild places,, such as this mountain waterfall in central Norway, can create inspiration for designed streams. Cluster large boulders to create small pools, and to define the outer curves of streams, and install smaller flat stones in groupings.
