halls hill highview park  arlington, virginia

This park created a neighborhood green space that reflects the history of the neighborhood and showcases community art.  Elizabeth prepared hardscape and planting plans, as part of a multi-disciplinary team at Pennoni. The landscape and hardscape features:

• community-created commemorative bricks set in a decorative curb.

• siting of sculpture by a local artist.

• brick walkways and sitting areas for community use,  steps and piers including signage.

• masses of perennials and trees for seasonal interest, designed at a scale large enough to be compatible with the adjoining roadways and community.
